Why did R.H. Byrd, Jr., a farmer
of 1,700 acres of soybeans, decide to try Vigoro
Seeds? “I wanted to use them in a test to
compare against other varieties I have been planting,”
he says. Byrd, of Bunnlevel, NC, was not disappointed.
Byrd says, “The plot beans yielded better
than the competitors.” He likes that there
are more varieties to choose from and says that
V67N3 had good standability and a really good
color. “With our drought and insect pressure,
it really yielded well at the top of the trial,”
he says.

“I
use Vigoro Seeds because of my faith in my seed
dealer, who is well-educated in the year-to-year
results of the seeds he sells, and the superior
results of the seed plots,” says James L.
Hines, III, of Turkey, NC. His 125 acres of corn
saw increased yields due to quick emergence, fast
early growth, drought tolerance, increased kernel
count, and stay-green traits. Hines says crops grown
from Vigoro Seeds exhibit even growth across varying
soil types in the same field, making it easier to
manage the crop, whether cultivating, spraying or
harvesting. “I believe anyone interested in
planting seeds which exhibit outstanding emergence,
good early seedling vigor, excellent drought and
disease resistance, and maximum yield potential
should try Vigoro Seeds,” says Hines.

“This
was the first year I planted Vigoro V352NRR beans,”
says Wayne White of Louisiana, MO. “They were
the top yielding beans on my farm,” he says.
“Even under less than ideal conditions, the
V352NRRs yielded 62.5 bushels per acre. They outyielded
my next best bean by nine bushels per acre. I plan
to plant more next year.” White also says
Vigoro has good standability and good emergence. |

| “We
farm about 1,000 acres, and have been using Vigoro
Seeds for the past three years,” says Justin
Wilson of McComb, OH. “We started out by trying
a few bags of Vigoro 4910 corn, and it’s been
our best corn the last three years.” This
year Wilson will also plant some Vigoro 4910 and
5110 corn. For soybeans, Wilson has been planting
Vigoro 281 and 259 Roundup Ready soybeans. “They’ve
been our top beans the last couple of years,”
he says. “I’ve tried a lot of different
varieties in my lifetime and I really like what
I see out of these varieties.” |
